Soft seated means the valve seat is made from PTFE or RPTFE polymer material, rather than metal. This design achieves ISO 5208 Rate A bubble-tight shutoff (zero measurable leakage) and operates continuously from -40°C to +180°C, requires lower operating torque, and delivers longer service life. It is ideal for clean media including water, natural gas, oil, and process chemicals that do not contain abrasive particles.
What does "High Platform" mean on this valve?
"High Platform" refers to an elevated actuator mounting pad conforming to ISO 5211. The raised flange provides additional vertical clearance above the pipeline, accommodating larger, heavier actuators — including gearboxes, handwheels, and high-torque pneumatic or electric units (Rotork, Bettis, AUMA, Bray). It is the preferred design for insulated pipelines where extra clearance above the insulation layer is required, and for applications demanding large multi-turn or heavy-duty actuators.
