Selection guide

Which Valve Do You Need?

Pick by what the valve has to do in the line. Our engineers confirm the final selection against your datasheet.

Why BAUTU

Why Buy Gate, Globe & Check Valves from BAUTU

01

Own foundry

Bodies cast in our own foundry since 1994, so every casting traces back to its heat number.

02

Every valve tested

Shell and seat test on every valve; test report with heat number and test pressures in every shipment.

03

Four types, one order

Gate, globe, check valves and Y-strainers from one factory, on one purchase order and one set of documents.

04

Inspect before shipment

Third-party inspection welcome (arranged and paid by the buyer), or a live video of your valves on the test bench.

FAQ

Gate, Globe & Check Valve FAQ

Gate valve or globe valve: which do I need?

A gate valve is for isolation: it runs fully open or fully closed and, when open, has almost no pressure drop. A globe valve is for throttling and frequent operation: it controls flow and shuts off tightly, but has a higher pressure drop. Do not use a gate valve half open to regulate flow.

Swing or lift check valve?

Swing check valves suit larger lines in horizontal pipe, or vertical pipe with upward flow, and have a low pressure drop. Lift check valves suit smaller sizes and close tightly, with a higher pressure drop. Send us the line size, media and flow direction and we recommend the type.

Which body materials do you offer?

WCB carbon steel (ASTM A216) for water, oil, gas and steam in non-corrosive service; CF8 (cast 304) and CF3M (cast 316L) stainless steel for corrosive media.

Are your valves API certified?

API series are designed and built to API 600, API 623 and API 594 and pressure-tested per API 598. We do not hold an API Monogram licence. Every shipment includes a test report with heat number, chemical composition, mechanical properties and test results.

What is your lead time?

Standard sizes ship in 15–20 days. Large sizes and special options may take longer; we confirm the date with your quote.

Can I inspect the valves before shipment?

Yes. We welcome third-party inspection (for example SGS or BV), arranged and paid for by the buyer, or we can show your valves on the test bench in a live video call.
