Soft seated means the valve seat is made from PTFE or RPTFE polymer material, rather than metal. This design achieves ISO 5208 Rate A bubble-tight shutoff (zero measurable leakage) and operates continuously from -40°C to +180°C, requires lower operating torque, and delivers longer service life. It is ideal for clean media including water, natural gas, oil, and process chemicals that do not contain abrasive particles.
What is GB/T 12237, and what do PN10 / PN40 pressure ratings mean?
GB/T 12237 is China's national standard for steel ball valves, covering design, materials, testing, and marking requirements. PN10 and PN40 are European nominal pressure ratings — PN10 equals 10 bar (145 psi) and PN40 equals 40 bar (580 psi) maximum working pressure.
