Metal-seated ball valve · Made in Wenzhou
API 608 Metal-Seated Ball Valve — Lever Operated
Flanged floating ball valve with a hardfaced ball and metal seats instead of PTFE, for lines up to +420 °C or media with particles that would wear out a soft seat. Opened and closed by a quarter-turn hand lever; graphite gasket and packing.
- Hardfaced ball and seats for hot media and media with solid particles
- Every valve shell and seat tested per API 598, test report in every shipment
- Standard sizes ship in 15–20 days

Application
Where It Is Used
Choose metal seats when the temperature or the media would damage a PTFE seat. Below +150 °C with clean media, a soft-seated valve seals tighter and costs less.
- Hot oil and thermal oil lines
- High-temperature water and gas lines
- Media carrying particles or scale that would cut a PTFE seat
- Chemical lines (CF3M body)

FACE-TO-FACE CHECK
QC TAG ON EVERY VALVEChecked before packing
Face-to-face and flange dimensions are checked with calipers against ASME B16.10 and B16.5 before packing. Each valve gets a QC tag with model, size, class and inspector.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose a metal-seated ball valve instead of a soft-seated one?
When the line runs hotter than a PTFE seat can take (+150 °C, or +180 °C with RPTFE), or when the media carries particles, scale or crystals that would cut a soft seat. For clean media at lower temperatures, a soft-seated valve such as our API 608 manual ball valve seals tighter and costs less.
Which hardfacing: nickel alloy, tungsten carbide or Stellite?
All three are hard coatings on the ball and seat faces. Nickel alloy suits general hot service, tungsten carbide resists heavy abrasion, and Stellite keeps its hardness at high temperature. Tell us the media, temperature and pressure and we choose the hardfacing with you; it is stated on the order confirmation.
Does a metal-seated ball valve seal as tight as a soft-seated one?
Every valve is seat-tested per API 598. For metal-seated valves above NPS 2, API 598 allows a small, specified leakage rate, while soft seats must show no visible leakage. If you need zero leakage, tell us the conditions and we review the options with you.
Can I fit an actuator?
Yes. The top flange is drilled to ISO 5211 (sizes in the dimension table), and we supply the bracket and coupling for your actuator. Send us the actuator make and model with your enquiry.
Which body material should I choose: WCB, CF8 or CF3M?
WCB carbon steel for non-corrosive water, oil and gas. CF8 (cast 304) for general corrosion resistance. CF3M (cast 316L) for chlorides, seawater and chemical service.
What documents ship with the valve?
A product test report with the heat number of the body casting, chemical composition, mechanical properties and the pressure test results. We welcome third-party inspection (e.g. SGS or BV), arranged and paid for by the buyer.
What is the lead time?
Standard sizes ship in 15–20 days from stock. Special materials or options may take longer; we confirm the delivery date with your quote.
Is the valve fire-safe or API certified?
It is designed and built to API 608 and ASME B16.34, and every valve is pressure-tested per API 598. We do not hold an API Monogram licence. API 607 fire-type testing and ISO 9001 are in application, so the valve is not yet fire-safe certified. Every order ships with a Product Test Report (heat number, chemistry, mechanical properties and API 598 test results). Third-party inspection (e.g. SGS or BV) is welcome, arranged by the buyer.
